    Tenants reference check

    Hi All

I'm about to complete refurb and start to let my 2 bed flat and I was wondering which specialists service have you used to perform credit checks reference for tenants for CCJ, unpaid bills, bankruptcy?

Can you help with some advice.

    Many Thanks

    Paul

Hi. I have been using HOMELET for 18 months and I have found them to be very good, for single living properties (sole let's) we have an OPTIMUM check done which includes a twelve month insurance policy, so if the tenant fails to pay the rent then HOMELET will do all the necessary work to have the tenants evicted including court proceedings... What more could you ask for.
    Hope this helps

    I'd want a company that:

    a) checks they have the old Landlord's permission to contact them before harassing them with 6 emails and 3 phone calls in a day demanding a reference

    b) doesn't use the old Landlord's contact details to send out marketing for their services, particularly when they have never been given permission

    c) will comply with a section 10 notice under the DPA 1988 (reason for not complying is that they don't have the systems in place to do it)

    d) will comply with a section 11 notice under the DPA 1988 (reason for not complying is that they don't have the systems in place to do it)

I now tell any outgoing tenants that I won't provide a reference to HomeLet. Their email addresses and phone numbers have blocked.

Who did you end up using for your tenant referencing and what was your experience with them?
