    Unprotecting a deposit

"Good evening all. Can you help me please. I have had a great deal of problems with a tenant that I am taking action against for rent arrears and damage. I was just putting the final claim statement together and realised I have not unprotected the deposit. Even though this will be 100% retained to off set against the debt, is anyone aware if there is a time limit to change to unprotected. This tenant had gone onto a Statutory Periodic Tenancy. Thanks in anticipation"

I'm not really sure what you mean by unprotecting the deposit. If the tenancy is over then presumably you want to claim on the deposit for the rent arrears. All the schemes have a process for making such a claim, it usually starts with an online form.
