This is a duplicate discussion to this current discussion:

    Residential or National Landlord Association?

The answer is join the one that you feel best represents your interests in the manner you would like to be represented and the one that offers the level of support you are seeking.

You mention the NLA, the RLA, and Landlords Alliance.  There is also iHowz and numerous smaller landlord associations, but the NLA and the RLA are the two main ones in terms of member numbers and influence in the corridors of power.

I looked into both, the RLA had free tax investigation insurance.  Im not sure NLA does cover that and it would be expensive to hire accountants if the HMRC decides to investigate you.  As I was buying in Liverpool that fact that you could get a co-regulation discount on your landlord license fee was also a reason I went with RLA that wasn't an option with NLA.

Thanks for that. I have read good things about Land Alliance as well.
