Zero Deposit vs. Tenant Passport etc

So there's a lot of hype on here about Zero Deposit, and I am sceptical about it on many levels.

Paul Barrett used to mention very often the Tenant Passport and how it is a good system, plus it has been active since 2016.

For those of you looking into the likes of Zero Deposit and its ilk, take a look at both and let us know on here which you use and why?

    Zero Deposit: https://www.zerodeposit.com/faq/
    Tenant Passport: http://www.landlordreferencing.co.uk/pre...-passport/

If there are any other similar schemes that others are using, please let us all know and how you've got on with them?

    Hi Adam,

Let's keep things factual please.  There is no hype about Zero Deposit.  There is interest and skepticism about deposit replacement schemes, of which there are many, Zero Deposit being the one that Property Tribes' partnered with due to the pedigree of the people behind it.

If you want to analyse deposit replacement schemes, then please do, they all share roughly the same method/model, although some do not have the financial protection of ZD, or are backed by such impressive insurance names, and that is something to be aware of when choosing one.

I'd say there's hype about ZD when you get several threads about it in the last 6-8 weeks + your forum sponsorship, including one from a Letting Agent that states in the title its " Zero Deposit - best new LL product in ages "? That's not hype, there's facts for you?

I haven't seen the names of any other deposit schemes mentioned, other than the Tenant Passport scheme which I mentioned? Just trying to get some balance out there, and as I said in that other thread, would be great to hear some other options out there that have been tried and tested.

The forum sponsorship is not hype.  It's a business timing its promotion to coincide with events in the sector.

Property Tribes is not responsible for how many people show an interest (again not hype) in a topic.  If someone thinks a product is great, that's not hype, it's someone sharing something they found useful, which is one of the things this platform is for.

If a topic is getting a lot of attention, it could be described as "trending".  That is community-driven and organic and shows where people are focussing their attention, just as you are focussing your attention on this topic and creating content around it. Absolutely nothing wrong in that. It is healthy and organic.

Other deposit replacement schemes mentioned on Property Tribes include FlatFair and Reposit, but there are more.

It's good to have balance, so why not research all the other deposit replacement schemes and share your findings here?

Research is only that, and as I've already mentioned, it would be great to hear from people that have actually used these other schemes as all the research will not prove anything. I'd never seen FlatFair and Reposit mentioned, but it's good to have 2 more companies on the list.

Hopefully someone that has looked into/used those and/or others will contribute.
